Ecler speakers provide automated audio system for Harris Academy
A secondary school in South Norwood, London has recently undergone a major audio upgrade with the installation of over 100 Ecler speakers and a new cabling infrastructure. The project was undertaken by system integrator Excite AV, who proposed a design that would deliver on the school's brief and meet the tight schedule imposed by the school's terms.

Choosing the right equipment
The Ecler equipment, which was provided by our partner Audiologic, was installed in eight zones throughout the school. The kit included 52 pairs of Ecler IC6 two-way in-ceiling loudspeakers for indoor areas, and three pairs of Ecler eMOTUS5OD outdoor loudspeakers for the playgrounds. These were powered by an Ecler eHSA4-150 amplifier. The system's back-end is powered by an Ecler DUO-NET Player, which has been programmed to control the automatic bell system throughout the school.
Installation and Project Delivery
The project was time-critical and had to be completed within a tight schedule that aligned with the academic calendar of the school. Excite AV used a team of five expert engineers to complete the installation and programming within two weeks.
The new system was up and running before the students returned for the start of term!
A lot of enthusiasm and close working with the school maintenance team was key to success, and the Excite AV team created excellent training videos to help the school understand all aspects of the newly installed system.
The new audio system has provided the school with an automated bell system and music for class changeover time. The installation was swift and the new music for transitions and bell audio sound fantastic, according to Harris Academy's principal, Rob Hitch.
This project showcases the high quality and ease of setup of Ecler equipment, which was the stand-out choice for this project, according to Ben Spurgeon, Audiologic's Senior Technical Manager. Ecler's audio solutions provide not only quality sound but also smart automation that can benefit educational institutions, businesses, and hospitality settings.
